What is GAGE?
GAGE, an affiliate of the Georgia Association of Gifted Children, is a non-profit volunteer group of parents, teachers, administrators, and community leaders committed to the advocacy and advancement of educational practices and resources which will meet the unique learning needs of gifted students in Gwinnett County.
What does GAGE do for Gwinnett County Public Schools?
• Sponsors workshops for teachers highlighting teaching strategies and activities for curriculum used in the gifted program.
• Sponsors seminars for parents and educators on current trends and issues concerning gifted children.
• Awards grants to teacher members for the implementation of innovative projects targeting gifted students in their FOCUS or regular classrooms.
• Awards scholarships for elementary and middle school gifted students to apply towards summer programs and for high school gifted students to apply towards college.
• Provides financial support for Future Problem Solving, Odyssey of the Mind, and Destination Imagination teams invited to national competitions.
• Coordinates the awards reception for the recognition of outstanding students and adults for their contributions to gifted education each spring.
